Second Spring Organic Sprouted Tri-Colour Quinoa - 400g
Sprouted tri-colour quinoa is a nutritious mix of sprouted white, red and black quinoa. It is naturally gluten-free, with a soft, delicate texture and nutty, earthy taste. Quinoa has boomed in popularity recently, but it actually originated in the Andes more than 3,000 years ago. It now grows around the world in more than 120 varieties. It is a good source of protein and fibre, and contains 9 essential vitamins and minerals, making it a complete protein. Add a burst of colour and nutrition to any meal!
Sprouting quinoa aids in digestibility and reduces bitterness (saponin), resulting in a lighter, more subtle flavour. It also reduces its cook time to just 15 minutes, making it the perfect grain for a quick, nutritious and satisfying meal. Cooking sprouted quinoa is very easy, simply boil in water or broth.
It is very versatile and can be a direct replacement for unsprouted quinoa or rice. Try in hot or cold salads, casseroles, grain bowls, soup, curries, porridge and patties. It’s also delicious as a side dish, try adding some toasted nuts and dried cranberries for added texture.

After sprouting, we carefully dry the grains back down to their shelf stable moisture levels. This means you can store them as you would store unsprouted whole grains – in a cool, dry place.
Once you cook your sprouted grains, they should be stored in an air-tight container in the fridge.
